Garibaldi Lake

I went on a hike during the end of Autumn to Garibaldi Lake. It's just off the Sea-to-Sky highway about 30 minutes before you hit Whistler. It was an amazing hike with vantage points and smaller lakes along the way. Lots of great pictures that day with some good friends!

The distinct feature about this lake is it's a bright turquoise especially during autumn! However, since we went as a day hike, we got there when the sun is still high and reflections were bright! We could see smaller sections of the lake that were in the shade and how beautifully turquoise it is! Alas, for most of our pictures the water just turned into reflections of the sky =(

It's not the easiest hike mind you and we spent a full day doing it! It took us about ~6 hours at least including breaks to hike 18km (9km one-way) and picture time (a good 3 hours hiking up and 2 hours hiking down) and boy were we sweating! Many switch backs to climb through and make sure your quads are ready for a work out! But in the end it was all worth it!

Middle of Nowhere

Ever get the feeling you're not really anywhere? You see the signs pointing to where you could go... but what about where you are right now? Is it a significant spot? Are you in between destinations? Are you following the right signs?
Middle of Nowhere

I'm going to be lazy and stop typing out image properties for now... Photos are posted on flickr and you can see it there or simply by right clicking and look at the image properties if you use Opera =p

Upside-Down Jellyfish?

Is it just me or has anyone else looked at these pieces of art and wondered: Huh?

I can appreciate the effort to provide some art pieces around the Olympic Oval but how did they come about choosing an upside-down jellyfish? Or am I looking at it the wrong way... I guess I wouldn't mind so much but I foresee some problems with maintaining an upside down mesh pocket suspended couple hundred feet into mid-air above swamp/lagoon terrain........and guess how much that will cost to keep this art, art?

Is this art?

Enchanted Miracle 2009

The CSU club from SFU organized a modeling show again this year called Enchanted Miracle. Enchanted Miracle is a fundraiser aimed to help the Richmond Hospital collect money for new equipment.

I was fortunate enough to snatch myself a ticket and a decently close seat to try out some modeling photography for a change! As you can tell, I was only allowed to stay in my seat but I tried to capture different effects nonetheless! Need to work on focusing and composition though! Lots of things going on in the photos

Night Oval

During one of the late summer nights, I dropped by the Richmond Olympic Oval to practice some night shots. I'm pretty satisfied with my shots considering I still don't have a tripod! Rainy nights and stormy clouds now tho.....

Remembrance Day

They shall grow not old as we who are left grow old.
Age shall not weary them nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

Richmond is haunted......

So Halloween night, I wandered Richmond checking out Jordan's Haunted House and a nicely decorated front yard on No. 2 by Moncton. Next year: Fright Night perhaps?

I saw this guy cruising in to kitsilano beach on his paddle board, looked so relaxing while being a good work out too. Always wanted to try but my clumsy balance will probably own me first.
