A local scare-bunnie patrolling the neighborhood gardens.

These are the scenes around me seen through the little viewfinder of my camera. I hope you enjoy looking at the photographs as much as I enjoyed creating them.

Richmond Sunset
This was taken along Richmond's northern dike as the sun slowly crept down towards the horizon. The stretch of wild grass overgrowing beyond the dike just made it one of the most serene landscapes around my home. Just taking a pleasant walk through Richmond's Terra Nova neighborhood.
I'm also debating what my next lens should be... I want a more compact prime so I don't draw as much attention while I wander around, but I want a nice prime for portrait also. At the same time, I'm thinking maybe I should expand my focal lengths first, probably in to the wider angle for more dramatic shots? And I also miss the macro versatility the S3IS gave me =(

Did you pay?
The Canada Line runs by the honor system. You're suppose to pay for your fare beforehand and there are no gates or fare checks... well... not initially. Now they have people in green shirts standing at the entrance of to each station (from Richmond anyways) that check random people walking past them.
Oh Octopus card... Come to us!

Lady of Estacy
"Right place at the right time" =D
I was wandering Vanier Park having fun w/ my camera and lo-and-behold! I run in to...a Rolls Royce Phantom! Global News was doing a coverage of the new Rolls Royce dealership opening in Vancouver so I went in to take some pictures. They let me inside the car and I got to feel up the lamb wool carpet XD.

Out and about
I tried some field testing around Richmond and Vancouver, testing what I can do and what this baby's capable of. It's just an AMAZING camera. The accessibility and control of everything. Only downside is I have to remember to reset some of the settings after I leave 1 place and go to another =p (passed by an Aston Martin in DT and it was extremely overexposed).
The current template limits the photo to a width of 800px. Much of the clarity in the photo is lost due to shrinkage. I'll play with the site/flickr sometime in uploading larger photos...
5D Mark II; Shutter speed 1/160s; Aperture f/11; Focal 24mm; ISO 4000
Also, heard news of the Canon 7D. Ok maybe the specs aren't quite as nice as the Nikon D300S but the dual DIGIC4 processor in there is enough to keep me interested!
